In Ward Dress, the VAD would wear a grey/blue dress with white apron, an armband bearing the Mobile badge to the left arm, and a white veil gathered behind the head. This is in worn but excellent condition and is a embroidered in yellow and cream with the VAD on a red drill circle. It is surmounted with a padded crown and it is all on black with a linen backing. The following is written on the back:

These are pre 1960 (BD size) but the tailors bundle has been attacked by moths (possibly Hurricanes and Spitfires as well!!). The badges have all seen better days but with a little careful sewing would decorate a BD blouse beautifully for the reenactors out there who want vintage items. 11 items to play with.
This is an unusual colourway golden yellow heavy embroidery on black felt with a hessian backing. British Army Proficiency Badges by Edwards & Langley page 66 item 57.
